Our relationship with God depends far more on our relationship with one another than we know. How can we say that we love God whom we cannot see, yet we despise, hate or are envious and jealous of our brother/sister who we can see? We are deceiving ourselves!!
How can we truly go and worship God in spirit and in truth if we have unforgiveness and bitterness in our hearts? How can we come to God in prayer if we have anger and resentment in our hearts towards our brother/sister? Do we really believe that our worship will be acceptable to God? Do we really believe that our prayers will be answered?
“In the same way you married men should live considerately with [your wives], with an intelligent recognition [of the marriage relation], honoring the woman as [physically] the weaker, but [realizing that you] are joint heirs of the grace (God’s unmerited favor) of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered and cut off. [Otherwise you cannot pray effectively.] 1 Peter 3:7 (AMPC)
Furthermore, God says that when we bring our gifts to the altar, if our brother/sister has something against us we should leave our gifts at the altar and first go and reconcile to them and only thereafter offer our gifts.
Jesus clearly says that whatever we do to the least, whether good or bad we do to Him. So, before we think or speak bad about someone, before we act in the wrong manner towards someone else. Let us remember Who we are actually doing this to!!
Prayer: Father, please forgive me for every evil thought, word and action I’ve committed against others. Please help me to be conscience of Your presence at all times. Put a guard in front of my mouth and be a watchman over my lips. In Jesus Name. Amen
