Have you ever heard of the phrase "cover" it in prayer? It's a biblical principle. The Biblical definition of "covering" means to "conceal" or "wrap" or "protect" and even "disguise". Wow! This means, that when you pray properly over something or someone, when you really cover it in prayer, you are actually wrapping it, protecting it, concealing it...from who? From the enemy! Because your enemy is an opportunist according to 1 Peter 5:8! The enemy doesn't want you to receive your healing, breakthrough, help, whatever it is you're praying for. This is why, we must COVER it properly so that the enemy can't get an opportunity to frustrate, delay or stop our breakthrough!
We cover our various food items in the fridge. Have you ever wondered why we do it? The scientific reason behind it is so that one item doesn't contaminate the other items.
In the same way, we must cover everything in prayer, so that the enemy cannot interfere and contaminate what God is busy doing in and through us! We must pray over EVERYTHING, and the Bible tells us to! When we lack in prayer, when we don't cover everything in prayer, satan find a way to steal, kill and destroy. Remember, prayer is protection!
When you pray over everything, you are messing up the devil's assignments, missions, plans that have been formed against you! You become alert and vigilant when you cover everything in prayer! Have you ever heard in a movie or watching military documentaries, when they are in battle, they will say to each other: "cover me"? It's an actual military term used to suppress the onslaught of the enemy. One person is providing cover for another to keep the enemy away.
It's forcing the enemy to take cover so that the person you are covering, can get to their new position. Do you realize that this is exactly what you are doing when you "cover" someone in prayer? You are suppressing the enemy's attacks on that person, allowing them to get to their next destination! That's how much power there is in praying, covering in prayer! 1 Tim 2:1 "pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them." You are so anointed! There is so much power in your prayers! Cover everything in your life in prayer and make it hard for the enemy to locate you!
