The Bible says in Ephesians 6 that we do not fight against flesh and blood (each other) but against the demonic forces assigned against us. Fear is a spirit - and 2 Timothy teaches us that God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and love and a calm, well-balanced mind.
What are the characteristics of a spirit of fear?
Are you noticing any of these characteristics in your life? Your words? Your thoughts?
If we then know the Holy Spirit is in us, and that we should allow Him to flow not just in us but through us as well, shouldn't we show the characteristics of the Holy Spirit in our words and thoughts and actions?
We need God to change our thought patterns! Renew our minds! Take our thoughts captive! We are seated above all evil spirits! Jesus has disarmed principalities and powers!
So, if this wonderful and magnificent God dwells in our hearts, let us give Him His rightful place in our hearts. Let Him be Lord of ALL!!
Prayer: Father, please forgive me for harbouring unforgiveness, bitterness, love of money, fear, worry, anxiety, jealousy, envy and any other sin in my heart, Your dwelling place. Please take your rightful place as King of my life and lead me in Your ways. In Jesus Name. Amen
