Perhaps you have seen it while people praise & worship or you have seen it on YouTube watching a Sunday service - suddenly someone doing a movement of some sort which makes no sense as you look at it, but it seems to make good sense to the person doing it? Sometimes it looks like a spontaneous dance or a repetitive gesture. Ever wondered if it's legit and Biblical? To be honest with you, I have done prophetic actions many times myself, whether in a service or in my private time with God during prayer.
At times when I'm praying, I will feel led to do a specific action that signifies what God is showing me needs to be done. As I perform that action I am affirming through my flesh, that God will come through! It's a prophecy through a gesture led by the Holy Spirit! That is what makes such a movement powerful! Ever seen a prophetic dance? Those movements done in that moment, led by the Holy Spirit, has tremendous power because it's done in obedience! And when we act in obedience, God can move and do wonders!
Is it Biblical? Absolutely! Acting out a prophecy and signify what is to come was quite a common occurrence in scripture:
There are in fact so many examples of actions performed as instructed by God before anything became reality that I can't share them all with you here! But I'd like to mention one beautiful example of how powerful a prophetic action led by God can be in your life! Remember the battle for Jericho in Joshua Chapter 6:1-27? God instructed Joshua and his armed men to march around the city walls once a day for six days and then seven times on the seventh day and then blow their trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout and that as they would do that, the walls of Jericho will come down, ready for them to conquer! Can you imagine how silly it looked to those inside the city watching these soldiers, walking around a wall blowing trumpets?
But those actions, in obedience was a prophecy about to be fulfilled! God came through because their actions were in line with God's will! Do you see how powerful a prophetic gesture can be?! Yes, I may look silly to others when I do my actions, but I'd rather look strange to man than miss out on the blessings of God! Next time when you pray or worship and you feel led to do an action, DO IT! Your breakthrough is on its way!
