Genesis 17:2, 6-7 (Amp) "And I will make My covenant (solemn pledge) between Me and you and will multiply you exceedingly. And I will make you exceedingly fruitful and I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting, solemn pledge, to be a God to you and to your posterity after you."
Thank God, He made His covenant with us. Thank God, that He initiated His covenant. Because truthfully, we have nothing to offer Him except to love Him with all our hearts, minds and strength. His covenant is far greater than any of our shortcomings and His blessings and protection supersedes any of our weaknesses. Just take a look at our father of faith, Abraham. He really struggled with fear of man. When Abraham and his wife entered a city, he asked Sarah to lie and say that he was her brother because he was afraid that they might murder him. But God told Abraham that He would make him a great nation, bless him, make his name great!
This is great news for people like us who are weak! Many of us today believe that we need to be perfect to receive something from God and that if we do something wrong, we will forgo His protection, blessing, breakthrough, healing and mercy. But just take a look at Abraham, even though he still had weaknesses in his life, God still protected him and his wife and blessed them tremendously.
Why?
Because God made a covenant with Abraham. He gave him His strength, His protection, His salvation, His deliverance, His blessings, His mercy.
God knows our weaknesses and just because we are struggling with something does not mean God has forsaken us. Oh, to the contrary! Our Father knows that in order for us to live a life of victory in this world and in our generation, we will need all of His covenant's benefits to possess the gates of our enemies (Satan and his demons).
